Safeguard for Chickens | Dosage, Uses, and More

Have you ever heard about Fenbendazole? It is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic. Fenbendazole can use against gastrointestinal parasites such as giardia, roundworms, whipworms, hookworms, the tapeworm genus Taenia. But have you heard about safeguard? I think you did. Safeguard is a brand name for this Fenbendazole chemical. Let’s talk about SafeGuard for chickens and other special things.

Safe-Guard Canine Dewormer treats and controls roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and some tapeworms. It’s safe on chickens. But some chickens can will not used to it. It’s best to consult an experienced person for assistance in the diagnosis treatment and control of intestinal parasites. 

Safeguard also can use for dogs. These are available in different sizes a 1 gram package will treat 10 pounds, a 2 gram will treat 20 pounds, and a 4 gram will treat 40 pounds. You want to give the correct dose once a day for three days in a row and it’s best to put it on canned food or moist, and dry food. If you have a 30-pound dog you would use a 20 plus a 10 and you would use a package of each once a day for three days in a row.

But we talk here about chickens, not dogs.

Every medicine should have a dosage. You know the safeguard dosage for dogs now. So, what about chickens. They need 51.5 mg of safeguard. But safeguard should inject into the chicken. Also, they come as a liquid. So instead of solid dosage, we need to know the liquid dosage.

You only want 3 mm of safeguard. Then you should mix it with a gallon of water. You have to use that mix as the only water source for the chicken for 5 days. Every day, the mix should be fresh. But you can also treat them with beds. Add 1mm of safeguard for bread and feed them.

A farmer can treat his herd with this Safe-Guard Dewormer for Goats. This goat wormer is an amazing medicine for goats. It can eliminate stomach worms, including Merck 28963. This one comes as a liquid. That liquid goat dewormer is administered orally for ease of use. But be sure to consult your veterinarian for additional information about using goat worm medicine and the diagnosis and treatment of worms.

The process is pretty much the same as I said above. You need to mix the proper amount of goat safeguard with the proper amount of water. And let them use that mix as their water source for days. 3 mm of goat safeguard and 1 gallon of water is the recommended amounts.

You can use a syringe to measure goat safeguard. Many syringes are calibrated with milli meters. 1mm is equal to 1ml most time. So, you should pull it to 3 mm. Also, drinking is not the only way to give safeguard chickens. You can add 1 mm of goat safeguard to bread and feed chicken. Like I said above.

You can give these Alfalfa-based pellets to chickens with their foods. They let chickens feed and deworm in a single step. As you know, they are armed with fenbendazole, the main active ingredient in all Safe-Guard products. Like other products, these pellets are effective against worms, stomach worms, and intestinal worms in cattle in one feeding.

Safeguard pellets can deworm Lungworms Stomach worms (fourth stage larvae, adults ), Intestinal worms ((fourth stage larvae, adults), Brown stomach worms, Small intestinal worms, Bankrupt worm, Hookworm Thread-necked intestinal worm, Nodular worms.

safeguard AquaSol for chickens

Safe-Guard AquaSol is another good product. It indicated the treatment and control of adult Ascaridia galli in broiler chickens. Also, they replace chickens and for the treatment and control of adult A. Galli and Heterakis Gallinarum in breeding chickens and laying hens. You know SafeGuard is a brand name for fenbendazole. AquaSol contains 200 mg of them.

How many safeguards AquaSol should give to chickens and how? Well, that is important. They need daily dose of 1 mg/kg BW (0.454 mg/lb) for 5 days. It is a simple calculation. The chicken’s total estimated bodyweight x 0.005 mL. You better Consult your Veterinarian for assistance.

This paste is a smart product of safeguard. It can be used for larvae, small strongyles, pinworms (Oxyuris equi), ascarids (Parascaris equorum), and arthritis. SafeGuard paste 10% has no known contraindications with any drug. Specially use for horses but also can use for chicken. You can buy those in two sizes. Those are available in 25 gram and 92 gram.

We discussed how goat safeguard works with chickens. Now horses. Safeguard horse dewormer can use for chicken. Actually, people use them for chicken as much as for horses. It is very easier than measuring something to put in their water. The product comes with a syringe. It is a very good product. It will do its job which is to kill the worms.

Safeguard is a brand name for Fenbendazole. It is often used to deworm animals. Chickens have worm decides sometimes. SafeGuard can help them. There are many forms of safeguard. It is available as a liquid, pellets, AquaSol, and a paste. There is no need for a SafeGuard product specific for chickens. Goats and horses safeguard products can use for them. The most important thing is using the correct dosage.
